Drinks
The “Stop Counting Calories” book contains more than 100 Questions & Answers – some asked frequently, some quite personal and particular to individuals – but you may find that’s exactly the question to which you’re looking for the answer. Here are the key questions that you have asked about drinks – these are answered in Section 8 of the Q&A part of the book.
Q) What should I drink?
Q) Can I drink tea with skimmed milk any time of the day in Phase 2?
Q) Can I have sugar-free/low cal drinks?
Q) My 17 year old daughter is now on Phase 2, but doesn’t like tea/coffee and is getting really fed up with plain water. Is caffeine free coke OK? Or a splash of diluting orange better (or something else)?
Q) You say that it is better not to drink at all with meals as it affects digestion, I’m finding this quite difficult and just wanted to check that this does include even water? I’m now drinking loads of water throughout the day but miss not having a drink with my meal. (Water that is, not alcohol!)
Q) My only problem is the drinks allowed. I’ve tried drinking my tea and coffee black, but can’t get to like the taste. Could you please tell me if I can have a slice of lemon in a cup of black tea, or in a glass of water, in Phase 1?
Q) Can I have fruit teas in Phase 1?
Q) I am 5ft 2in and weigh 215lbs so have a long way to go to get anywhere near my natural weight and there is no way on this earth I can do Phase 2 without drinking, as I go out socially a lot. If I do drink during Phase 2 what do you recommend I stick to? (Red wine is out as it gives me a migraine).
