In this section I am going to start posting some of my favourite and least favourite products.
One of my passions is chocolate! I will also share sources and product pictures for the best chocolate I have found and I eat at least 100g a day doing research! To me chocolate is anything with at least 70% cocoa content. Anything less than this is confectionery and should be avoided. My preference is for 85% cocoa chocolate and hand made chocolates that contain only real, natural ingredients – cocoa, cocoa butter, normal butter, cream, vanilla pods and other natural flavourings. I especially like real chocolate with no sugar, or artificial flavourings although I do eat a lot of 85% Lindt chocolate, which does have a few grams of sugar in each bar. I’ll apply for a job with them one day and see if they can make a version without sugar (sugar is my single biggest food hate!)
Particularly for sufferers of wheat intolerance, I often recommend rice based alternatives – rice pasta and rice cereal and so on. I get several emails from people asking for brands and where they can buy these alternatives, so I have posted a couple of product pictures to help you .
I am searching for the worst product on the planet and I would love your help. Please email me with any listing of the product ingredients on a food. I am looking for lots of ingredients listed and as many of them as possible being things we just don’t need – sugar, syrup, glucose syrup, gelatine etc. Listings of my current ‘favourites’ and ‘least favourites’ are on the links below products.
